Currently, there are 35,295 economically disadvantaged elementary school children in Palm Beach County. These children deserve the best opportunities in life to help them break the cycle of poverty. Reading is an important predictor of academic success, which in turn predicts a child’s path in life.

By giving children the opportunity to own a home book collection,

we are boosting their chances of success at school and beyond.

 

There is a very strong correlation between a child’s academic achievement and the number of books at home. We can boost these children’s chances of success by supplying regular books to them through a book club, hosted by their elementary school PTA.

 

Our hope is to kindle a flame inside of their children that will grow into a burning passion for books and learning. This will instill a lifelong love of reading, enabling a life-long love of learning - the greatest ingredient for a life of success.
